Do you like to talk while having sex? Does the conversation turn you on during the act? So we talk about coitolalia. Coitolalia is precisely the sexual arousal for speaking during the sexual encounter, although they do not have to be erotic, wild and risque words: what excites them is the simple conversation during intercourse; if they remain silent they cannot reach orgasm.
Coitolalia is a word whose roots etymologically come from both Latin and Greek: coitus ( from Latin, cum + itum, to go with ) and lalia ( from Greek, which means to speak ).
Taking into account that the main characteristic of paraphilias, the predominant source of pleasure is not found in copulation, but something that accompanies it , in this case are words. If what excites during the sexual encounter are words exclusively related to sex and its practice (obscenities), then we would speak of coprolalia, of which we already spoke previously.
If the excitement is obtained speaking in these same terms but through the telephone, the paraphilia in this case is known as erotophonophilia.
Curiosity
We recall that in 1987 the American Psychiatric Association removed the term ‘perversion’ from world psychiatric terminology to treat it as ‘ paraphilia’.
