According to a study published in The Lancet magazine, Spain is the healthiest country to live in in all of Europe and probably in the whole world, ranking first in terms of life expectancy at a general level .
To reach this conclusion, an international team of scientists examined health data for more than 20 years from 18 different countries from 1990 to 2010 . The results revealed that Spain surpasses many other countries in the world in terms of the healthiest place to live with an average of 70.9 years of healthy life and a life expectancy of 81.4 years.
Among the reasons why Spain appears in a prominent place is due to a combination of factors ; among them, a generalized healthy diet thanks to the Mediterranean diet, a warmer climate and more inclination towards walks or hikes.
