The seed of the sea coconut ( Lodoicea maldivica ) native to the Seychelles.
It is known by this name because in the past, when these islands were not inhabited, the sailors found these peculiar coconuts floating in the sea , washed away by the waves when they fell from the palm trees.
At that time it was thought to be the fruit of some type of underwater tree , until its true origin, the Seychelles, was finally identified.
This peculiar brown seed can weigh up to 20 kilos , although most weigh around 10 kilos. In addition to its size, another striking feature is its shape, similar to that of a woman's pelvis, which is why it once had negative connotations.
