Cold, milky perfection with sweet, gummy tapioca balls that glide over the taste buds after being sucked through a huge vacuum-like straw. Sigh. With wild flavors like Matcha green tea, lychee, taro, molasses, passion fruit and dozens more, Bubble Tea is the dessert / drink / snack of your dreams. We’ve rounded up the best in North Jersey.
Dad
While bubble tea is surely the star of the show here at Babo, with dozens of flavors, a handful of ‘sinking’ options, and customizable sugar levels, this teahouse has so much more to offer. Gelato, chicken and waffles, pork buns, ramen, macaroni and cheese, and a full WALL of toy vending machines (yes, like the ones at the supermarket that your four-year-old would beg his parents to fill with quarters, just to produce the weirdest tchotchkes) will keep you coming back again and again.

ViVi Bubble Tea
The New Jersey outpost of this New York City-based franchise serves up very authentic Taiwanese tea and snacks. The “special” tea concoctions are worth trying, especially the Chocoberry and Cookie, and the tiramisu milk tea is dessert in a cup. You shouldn’t leave without trying a couple of Taiwanese barbecue sausages (on a stick!) And spicy chicken with popcorn. Mmm 117 Washington St., Hoboken
