Where to get rid of your Christmas tree in Dallas – Fort Worth

You picked the perfect pine tree. Now how do you get rid of your Christmas tree if you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

Check local websites in your city to get rid of your Christmas trees in 2015.

Christmas Tree Recycling in Dallas

If you live in Dallas, leave it for recycling at Home Depot locations between December 26, 2011 and January 2, 2012. The City of Dallas will mulch it.

Sidewalk Christmas Tree Pickup in Fort Worth

If you live in Fort Worth, Christmas tree recycling is on the curb on your regular garbage collection day through the end of January. Trees cannot be longer than 8 feet, so trim them if necessary.

Christmas tree fall in Arlington

If you live in Arlington, you can drop off your tree until January 9, 2012 at Calloway’s Nursery at 4940 S. Cooper Street or Arlington Sanitary Landfill, 800 Mosier Valley Road.

Frisco

In Frisco, recycling Christmas trees is available. Everything collected will be composted and not taken to a landfill. Place the tree on your regular garbage collection day, 3 feet away from the garbage and recycling bin; remove everything (lights, garlands, ornaments). Do not cover with a plastic bag. Trees must meet trees over 5 feet tall must be cut into sections. Flocked trees are not acceptable for curbside collection. For flocked trees, call 972-392-9300 to receive a collection on flocked trees.

There is a $ 10 charge to pick up flocked Christmas trees.

Flat

After the holidays, the City of Plano makes a coordinated effort to help you get your home back in order. First, yard trimmings are not done the week of December 26 to focus on picking up excess trash from the holidays.

Residential teams begin collecting Christmas trees the week of January 3, 2012. Trees and living vegetation must be bare: no ornaments, lights, stands, or decorations. If you live in an apartment or miss your pickup, the city offers three convenient drop-off locations from December 26 to January 8:

 

  • Preston Meadow Park, 4243 Lorimar Drive
  • High Point Park, 6500 Alma Drive
  • Campos de pelota Heritage Yards, 4525 Hedgecoxe Road

Tip

After removing your decorations and lights, be sure to remove the Christmas tree stand. Brackets are often forgotten and left attached to the tree.
