When you have not been a mother (and especially if you wish), and you see a pregnant woman, you sigh with love when you see that voluminous belly full of life. However, it does not occur to you how uncomfortable it is for many fundamental things – and I mean basic and simple things like cutting your toenails, tying your shoes … or sleeping! I admit that I was one of them and that when the time came, I no longer even knew how to accommodate myself with the huge balloon that my abdomen became … at least until I met the pregnant cushions.
The discovery came from the way we found out about almost everything: a friend told me she needed it to keep having a fairly normal nights , so I went swiftly to Amazon to buy it. Not to mention the eight hundred hours I invested in reading opinions and comparing models (yes, there are different models), until I decided on this one:

Niimo Baby Nursing Cushion and Pregnant Sleeping Pillow XXL Multifunction Cushion Cover 100% Cotton Removable and Washable Polyester Filled Multipurpose Maternity (Gray-White Star)
When I saw it live, I could only think about how I would accommodate myself with that kind of cloth snake and where I would keep it because it is quite large. I also remember that that same day I washed the cover and used it for the first time at nap time.
I discovered heaven. I still don’t understand how such an unrevolutionary design could make my belly find a place to rest and let me rest . I slept for three hours without even moving … I had found the solution to all my problems, around the sixth month of pregnancy.
However, at night the story changed a bit, since I usually move a lot . Of course, if you see the photo, you will realize that if you lay it on one side, when you turn around, you will need to rearrange the cushion to fit both the belly and the legs. That was precisely the problem: I slept very well, but wanting to turn around, I had to do that maneuver and start over. The truth is that I always slept better with her , but that moment when I had to settle down again, it was a bit of a nuisance. In his favor I must also say that naps were always my star moment because I don’t move (I don’t know why), so I got up completely rested.
In the end I decided to leave the cushion on the left side, which is how I spend most of the night, and accommodate a couple of cushions on the other side to be more comfortable and without waking up. Now, looking back, I would buy a pregnancy pillow again, but I would surely choose the one in the first photo because being U-shaped it allows you to sleep on either side.
