It is true that there is no better month than another to get pregnant. They are all good and each one of them has a series of benefits and disadvantages compared to another. And if still, you are one of the people who turn the subject and consider the options, you are interested in knowing why you should try to conceive in June in the northern hemisphere, and what can happen to you between now and March, when your baby will foreseeably be born.
Advantages and disadvantages of getting pregnant in June
You will discover that getting pregnant in June has quite a few advantages, but also some drawbacks. We tell you about each other by trimester, although as you can imagine, each woman can experience pregnancy differently and they may vary.
First trimester: July, August and September
You are going to live the first months of pregnancy in the hottest time of the year, which has its pros and cons, in my own experience.
These months are when nausea is most abundant. If you are one of those pregnant women who suffer them abundantly, these months have their bad part: the heat does not help you feel better , but as it is also likely that in the summer time you will take your vacations, you can take the opportunity to travel to a more moderate climate and take the opportunity to walk along the seashore. The fresh and fresh air improves discomfort and helps to cope with them.
Speaking of trips, long and exotic countries, it should be postponed until later, since the first months are the most delicate and where there is a greater risk of miscarriages, but since the future mother has not yet gained weight, she will enjoy her work break more in the destination of your choice and the heat is much more bearable at the beginning of pregnancy, when the gut has not yet grown.
The benefits associated with summer, such as spending more time soaking, vacations or shortened working hours, also favor the rest required by the pregnant woman’s body in the first months where it seems that one can even fall asleep standing up.
But you should also try not to worsen other discomforts associated with the first trimester: heartburn or heartburn. In order not to aggravate it with heavy digestions, you will have to avoid copious meals , the irregular schedules so typical in summer and foods rich in fats and sugars.
But there are more advantages to conceiving in June: there are more hours of sunlight, which translates into more vitamin D, important during pregnancy as it benefits the absorption of calcium, bone health and plays a fundamental role in the prevention of abortions during the first weeks.
Because in pregnancy it is safe to sunbathe, but with total sunscreen, since your skin is more sensitive during pregnancy. You also have to try to increase your fluid intake at this stage to prevent dehydration since due to all the changes inherent in pregnancy, our body temperature increases, which adds to the summer heat: try to drink at least ten glasses (or 2.3 liters) a day.
Second quarter: October. November and dicember
These are the months during which the pregnant woman tends to feel more comfortable and secure, so she can take advantage of the autumn months to take long walks outdoors and travel without problems.
Since nausea is not usually a problem anymore, you can take a long trip or travel at Christmas to see your family if you live far away. And you will have enough energy to go shopping without the gut being too bulky, enjoying this time of year.
On the other hand, also the copious meals associated with the Christmas holidays, can cause digestive discomfort, it should be controlled.
Also, remember that during pregnancy, body temperature increases, both due to hormones and because the baby that grows inside increases the mother’s metabolic activity.
As you are going to live most of your pregnancy in the cold months, you can take advantage of it to enjoy buying maternity clothes, now that you feel good or even take advantage of it to make you some Christmas gift that you need for yourself (and also for the baby).
Third quarter: January, February and March (April)
I know that each woman experiences a different pregnancy but, if it helps, I can tell you that for me, living the last stage of pregnancy in winter was very comfortable for me. An increase in body volume and kilos is better with cold than with excessive heat, especially if you live in a big city.
It also helps when you suffer from fluid retention, since the cold helps your ankles or hands not swell so much, a problem that affects me a lot.
Of course, the cold can also cause unwanted effects such as colds and flu, causing very annoying symptoms during pregnancy. To avoid complications, doctors recommend that pregnant women get vaccinated against the flu during the campaign, which is usually in October.
Another tip: you have to be careful with slipping, because at the end of the pregnancy you feel like a tentaty doll, you don’t see your feet because of the volume of your belly and it is more common to suffer the occasional slip. But that is solved by simply paying more attention.
Just one more detail: depending on your due date, you may or may not suffer from spring allergies. But, in any case, it will be a maximum of a few days, so presumably you will already be a mother when the pollen begins to bother you .
When your baby is born
Getting pregnant in June implies that your due date will be in March or early April. My daughter was born at the end of March and I remember her first months of life as perfect, since in spring the days begin to have more hours of light and the temperatures are more pleasant, so I could go out for a walk with the baby almost from the first day, a good thing for her, as she did benefit from the much-needed Vitamin D.
But it was also good for me, since giving birth in March allowed me not to go through the postpartum with heat, something that would have worsened my recovery.
And it also benefited us all, since in the summer I was old enough to travel to the beach and enjoy the summer soak. I precisely believe that his early relationship with water is the reason why he has always been such a lover of water activities.
And since she was still so small, it was very comfortable to carry him in a baby carrier, close to us, with the little feet in the air. She spent most of her first summer in her diaper alone, and laughing uproariously in her little plastic pool under an umbrella, moving her legs nonstop.
By the way! Try to offer the breast whenever he asks so that he does not become dehydrated by the heat, do not take him out in the middle of the day and no direct exposure to the sun, to prevent the baby from suffering from heat stroke.
