The first club night after the corona lockdown in Berlin is not without consequences – and that despite the 2G regulation.
Berlin – After the Corona * lockdown, the first party night rose in the scene club Berghain in Berlin. Two weeks later, 19 infections were discovered among club visitors. Association spokesman for the Club Commission, Lutz Leichsenring, does not see any cause for concern.
The 2G rules had applied to visits to the techno club: only vaccinated or recovered guests were admitted. Nevertheless, in the course of the infections that became known, a total of 2500 visitors had to be contacted. Leitzenring sees this as a sign that the alarm system is working. “We believe it is normal. It is a risk that we are now living with, ”Leichsenring told the German press agency on Wednesday.

It depends on the severity of the disease. If it were not about infections, but about severe courses, it would sound different, according to Leichsenring. Everyone has the opportunity to protect themselves from a severe course with a vaccination. It’s about self-determined action.
The famous techno club had self-ironically drawn attention to the 2G rule with a video. The travesty artist Ades Zabel alias Edith Schröder clarified the conditions under which guests are allowed entry.
According to Leichsenring, the club commission, the umbrella organization of the scene, is in favor of the 3G rule, which not only allows vaccinated and convalescents but also officially tested guests in. According to Leichsenring, it is important that the digital vaccination pass is scanned when entering, so that people check in and out and that nobody goes in with symptoms of the coronavirus *.
Corona: Berlin club landscape relies on ventilation systems
The clubs have also upgraded their ventilation systems. Because of the pandemic, the Berlin nightlife more or less stood still for about a year and a half. According to Leichsenring, around 70 percent of the clubs are now back in operation.
However, the corona outbreak in Berghain was not the first in the district. In Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, too, double-digit infections became known after 2G events, according to a spokeswoman for the district. It is not a phenomenon that can only be observed in Berlin. There was also a corona outbreak in Münster in a club with the 2G rule. When dancing, the guests did not have to wear a mask here.
