The Robert Koch Institute reports the current number of cases in the Corona crisis. The situation in Germany remains tense.
Berlin – The fourth corona wave seems to have long since arrived in Germany. The impression arises at least when looking at the current case numbers of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Also on this Sunday (November 7th) the RKI published the new infections, the deaths and the seven-day incidence.
According to the RKI’s current case numbers, 23,543 other people in Germany were infected with the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen within 24 hours. 37 people died of Covid-19 in connection with illness in the same period. The seven-day incidence in the corona crisis rose again. According to the RKI, it is now 191.5.
Corona case numbers from the RKI: significant increase in new infections in a weekly comparison
Compared to the previous day, it becomes clear that Germany is still a long way from surviving the Corona crisis. On Saturday, the RKI reported 34,002 new infections. The institute gave the incidence as 183.7. In the period mentioned, 142 people died as a result of corona disease.

Corona case numbers at the weekend: RKI often reports fewer new infections
The number of new infections on Saturday was significantly higher than on this Sunday. But especially on the weekends and in the night from Saturday to Sunday, not all health authorities report their corona case numbers to the RKI. As a result, the number of new infections and the number of deaths is often lower than on the previous days. The increase in the number of cases is therefore particularly clear compared to the new infections indicated a week ago. Last Sunday, the RKI reported 16,887 new infections with the corona virus.
According to the number of cases from the RKI, a total of 4,767,033 people have now been infected with the corona virus in Germany. According to the Berlin Institute, the number of total deaths in connection with a disease from Covid-19 is 96,525. (Daniel Dillmann)
