On Wednesday, the seven-day incidence exceeded the mark of 400 for the first time. The RKI announced the current case numbers for Germany.
Berlin – The corona pandemic is still keeping Germany in suspense, there are currently no signs of relaxation. Because on Wednesday (November 24th, 2021) the nationwide seven-day incidence rose to a new high and exceeded 400 for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of new infections was per 100,000 inhabitants and Week in the morning at 404.5.
For comparison: the previous day the value was 399.8, a week ago it was 319.5 (previous month: 106.3). The health authorities in Germany reported 66,884 new corona infections to the RKI within one day – compared to 52,826 infections exactly one week ago. This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:05 a.m.
Corona case numbers in Germany: More than 300 deaths
The seven-day incidence indicates the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. On November 8, the value in Germany had exceeded the threshold of 200 and thus the previous high since the beginning of the pandemic of 197.6. Since then, new highs have been registered every day. The USA has therefore issued a travel warning for Germany and strongly advises against traveling to Germany due to the high number of cases.
According to the new information, 335 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 294 deaths. The RKI has counted 5,497,795 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.

Corona case numbers for Germany: Hospitalization rate continues to rise
According to the RKI, the number of corona patients admitted to clinics within seven days rose to 5.60 (Monday: 5.28) on Tuesday (November 23, 2021). The value plays an essential role in assessing the occurrence of the infection. If limit values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded in the federal states, stricter measures to combat the corona pandemic can be imposed there.
The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,712,900. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 99,768. (msb with dpa and afp)
