Corona case numbers: Incidence jumps to 427.7 – RKI reports more than 81,000 new infections

The RKI reports the current figures on the corona situation in Germany on a daily basis. The evolution of data on new infections, deaths and incidence.

Berlin / Frankfurt – the number of new corona infections reached a daily high with 81,417 reported cases. The highest level to date was only reached yesterday (January 12th, 2022) with 80,430 new infections. The incidence of new corona infections in Germany has also been rising continuously for weeks.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced the seven-day incidence for today’s Thursday (January 13th, 2022) – it is 427.7. Yesterday, Wednesday, the incidence was still 407.5. A week ago it was 285.9. The value quantifies the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants over a period of seven days. More details soon.

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI’s Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.
