The RKI announces the number of cases of new corona infections, incidence and hospitalization in Germany – the data from Sunday (10.10.2021) at a glance.
Frankfurt / Berlin – The seven-day incidence in Germany rose again slightly. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 people and week on Sunday morning as 66.1. The previous day the value was 64.4, a week ago it was also 64.2 (previous month: 83.8).
As the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Sunday, citing data from the health authorities, 7612 new infections with the corona virus were registered within one day. This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4.16 a.m. A week ago the value was 6164 infections.
The number of deaths in Germany in connection with a corona infection rose by 24 cases to 94,202. According to the RKI, the total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic is 4,310,273. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected. The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at around 4,087,700.

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 people within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – the RKI last stated on Friday at 1.67. That corresponds roughly to the value of the previous week. A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.
