Fertility problems affect thousands of couples around the world. Many of them suffer in silence the long and difficult road in search of a baby , but fortunately, more and more people speak openly about it, helping to create awareness and empathy.
Actress Emma Roberts, in addition to being one of the celebrities who became pregnant during the pandemic, is the first pregnant woman to appear on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine , where through an interview she shares that she has endometriosis and had problems conceiving .
Through an interview for the December issue of Cosmopolitan magazine in the United States, the actress shared that although today she is expecting her first baby, at some point in her life she was afraid of not being able to become a mother .
She is currently 29 years old, but when she was younger she was diagnosed with endometriosis, after noticing that her period weakened a lot and was accompanied by very strong menstrual pain . She was even advised to freeze her eggs and consider other options for when the time came to want to get pregnant.
” It felt like something very permanent, and strangely, I felt that I had done something wrong. But I started talking to other women, and suddenly I found myself in a new world where they talked about endometriosis, infertility, pregnancy losses and the fear of having children. I was grateful to know that I was not alone. I had not done anything “wrong” after all, “says the actress in the interview.
As we have previously reported, endometriosis is a disease that can occur in utero and that could compromise a woman’s fertility . Its diagnosis is usually somewhat late, hence it is known as “the silent disease.”
Fortunately, her fears are behind her, because after all she has managed to conceive and is expecting her first baby: “It sounds corny, but the moment I stopped worrying about it, we managed to get pregnant .”
In the interview as the first pregnant woman on the cover of this magazine , she shares how she feels during this stage:
” Bottom line: I’m hungry and tired. Food and sleep don’t follow normal rules when you’re pregnant. But I’m healthy, which is the thing I’m most grateful for. Seeing my body change inside and out so It’s been drastically an incredible experience. Amazing and beautiful. Although also, some days I feel like I’ve been kidnapped by something . “
