Among the many things that I don’t like about this generation (they would give for a book) there is one that touches my morals a lot, and it is none other than the issue of DRM . In almost any of the current consoles, every online purchase is associated with an account, and we say almost, since for example with the Wii this does not happen. Our online purchases are associated with the Wii itself. And what happens if the console breaks down ? Well, we lose all our purchases . It’s to rejoice, right? A lot of.
This has motivated that for a few months I have not bought anything in digital format for Wii for fear of losing my Virtual Console games and those of WiiWare, and also for waiting for Nintendo to move with its Wii U. Which luckily It has already done, and in this case we can rest assured , since the big N is working so that we can transfer all our saved games or the games that we have installed on the Wii (Virtual Console and WiiWare) to the Wii U.
At the moment we do not know how this process will be done, but we already know more than before, since we have the official confirmation from Nintendo after a chat with the attendees at E3.
