This is a success and the rest is nonsense. A few days ago Alex told us that there are still games that are authentic console vendors and he used ‘Mario Kart 8’ as an example. Nintendo’s latest “racer” for Wii U had managed to increase the number of consoles sold significantly and responded to something that Alex had already predicted: if you have a Wii U, the game is essential and if you don’t have it, it is a great excuse to buy you one.
But today we find out how many copies the game has been sold since it was released just a month ago. Beware of the fact that two million copies sold have already been reached. An exaggeration considering the total number of Wii U consoles sold to date and that only a month has passed since its launch. In other words: users really wanted to receive a new ‘Mario Kart’ at the height of the myth.
Of those two million copies we must point out that approximately half a million come from Japan and that the other one and a half million copies that are missing have been acquired in the rest of the world. In other words, we are talking about an international success that is also helping Wii U sales to rebound.
If you still have doubts about whether the game is worth it, I advise you not to miss the complete analysis we did a few weeks ago. Nintendo has been slow to start releasing its most legendary franchises on its desktop console. Now that it has started and that, as always, the public responds, we can only ask one thing: hurry up with that ‘Zelda’!
