Nintendo unveils 'the Legend of Zelda' timeline

After many years of speculations and debates focused on finding out what steps the timeline of ‘The Legend of Zelda’ follows, Nintendo has decided to shed some light on it, releasing the official answer to that question. Taking advantage of the 25th anniversary of the franchise, a book called The History of Hyrule has been released that clears those doubts.

The story would begin with the recent ‘Skyward Sword’, reaching ‘Ocarina of Time’, after which it would bifurcate into three alternative lines : the one that includes the first games of the saga, the one started by ‘Majoras Mask’ and the one of ‘Wind Waker’ and deliveries for 3DS. If you look at the following image you will see it much clearer.

The mystery is over, and as if it were a chapter of Fringe it is officially confirmed that we are facing a story that takes place in parallel universes . Now those images with all versions of Link fighting side by side become even weirder. Another curious fact that adds to the many that the franchise already offers.
