Groß-Gerau – After an escalated family dispute, a 39-year-old was shot by the police in Groß-Gerau, Hesse.

The man had previously injured his wife, his mother-in-law and two neighbors with a knife, the prosecutor in Darmstadt announced on Wednesday. The 66-year-old mother-in-law was seriously injured in the attack on Tuesday evening.

According to the prosecutor, the Somali first attacked his 40-year-old wife and her mother after the dispute. When the wife fled from the apartment, the 39-year-old followed her and also injured the two 43 and 46-year-old neighbors who were hurrying to help.
