The Robert Koch Institute publishes the data on the corona pandemic in Germany on a daily basis. Here is an overview of the numbers from Monday (25.10.2021).
Berlin – The corona situation remains extremely tense. The 7-day incidence in Germany had already risen rapidly at the weekend, and there was no sign of recovery on Monday (October 25, 2021). The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning as 110.1. For comparison: the previous day the value was 106.3, a week ago it was 74.4.
The health authorities in Germany reported 6573 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 5 a.m. A week ago the value was 4056 infections.

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI’s Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.
According to the RKI, 17 new deaths have been recorded across Germany in the past 24 hours. There were ten deaths a week ago. The RKI has counted 4,472,730 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, however, since many infections are not recognized.
Corona in Germany: Hospitalization rate is increasing
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – was given by the RKI on Friday (October 22, 2021) as 2.68 (Thursday 2.45) . No figures will be released on the weekend. With the indicator it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay. A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,215,200. The number of people who died with or with a proven coronavirus infection rose to 95,117. (msb / dpa)
