Pregnancy is a precious stage that deserves to be lived fully, but sometimes tiredness and general fatigue do not allow you to be one hundred percent as you would like.
Is it difficult for you to get up in the morning and reach the end of the day with vitality? We give you seven tips to energize you during pregnancy .
1) Rest a few minutes a day
During pregnancy, the body produces more blood to deliver nutrients to the baby, causing the heart and the organs involved to work harder than usual. It is normal to feel tired, especially during the first trimester and at the end of pregnancy when the weight of the belly is already very noticeable.
Therefore, organize your day to take a few minutes of rest whenever you can . It’s not about running a marathon throughout the day. If you can’t lie down, at least sit down, put your legs up, your mind blank, and relax for a few moments .
2) Eat more fruits and vegetables
Eating is key to a healthy pregnancy. Fruits and vegetables are some of the foods that cannot be missed during pregnancy as they contain antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that will fill you with energy.
Increase its consumption, ideally to 5 pieces, spread throughout the day . Avoid processed foods, large meals, fats and do not abuse sugary foods, prefer light and healthy snacks in several meals throughout the day.
3) Exercise regularly
Exercise is very important to keep fit, to keep weight gain at bay, but above all to improve your mood and fill you with energy.
Regular mild or moderate exercise (two or three times a week) helps alleviate pregnancy discomfort, increasing the level of muscle strength and optimism. If there are no medical contraindications, exercise is very beneficial for mother and baby, always following the recommendations of experts.
Exercises such as Pilates, yoga, swimming, riding a bike or walking are ideal for pregnant women, but if before pregnancy you performed more intense exercise and the doctor does not advise against it, you can continue doing it.
4) sleep as much as you can
Napping is the most precious break in pregnancy, but with the rhythm that we carry during the day, it is not always possible.
If you can, try to nap between half and an hour in a comfortable place in the middle of the day , ideally on the left side to facilitate circulation, or rest on the sofa with your legs up, or at least take a break in your work day by reducing the noise level and practicing some relaxation technique.
5) Have frequent sex
Having sex is beneficial for both the partner and the baby. Among its benefits, having sex during pregnancy produces the release of endorphins, natural chemicals in the body that make us feel good and improve our mood .
In addition, it acts as a muscle relaxant, promoting rest and sleep. Both of these contribute to your vitality from day to day.
6) eat breakfast like a queen
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, also in pregnancy. To start the day off right, a full breakfast is essential . The first meal of the day should include cereals, dairy, and fresh fruit in season. Reinforcing your breakfast is a good measure to combat fatigue throughout the day.
7) Fill yourself with positive energy
Find breaks to take care of yourself and relax, to do things that you really enjoy . These are moments that will fill you with positive energy.
Ask your partner to give you a massage, take a relaxing bath with candles, listen to your favorite music, dance, visit friends, go for a walk, paint, do crafts …
