Vigeland Park

Vigeland Park, one of the most beautiful public parks in Oslo, contains the life’s work of Gustav Vigeland, a famous Norwegian sculptor. On display are more than 200 Vigeland masterpieces, including the bronze ‘Sinnataggen’ (Angry Boy) and ‘Monolitten’, a 17-meter spire flanked by 121 dominating figures, all composed of a single piece of white granite. There is a visitor center, a souvenir shop and a cafe. Use T-BANE: Majorstuen; TRAM: 12 to Vigelandsparken.

TusenFryd Amusement Park

The Tivoli in Copenhagen was the model for this amusement park. Filled with looping and corkscrew-style roller coasters, it also offers a water park, 67-meter space shot, carousels, and more than 20 rides. Restaurants, souvenir shops, an amphitheater, games, and entertainment are also part of the appeal. Within the grounds is the Vikinglandent educational theme park. A bus runs between Oslo’s main bus station and TusenFryd during opening hours.

Slottsparken

This castle park, which surrounds the Royal Palace, is open to the public. Visitors can witness the changing of the guard here. When the king is in residence, the band of the Royal Guard accompanies the change with music. In front of the castle is an equestrian statue of King Karl Johan, who ruled Norway and Sweden during the first half of the 19th century. Take the T-BANE to the Nationaltheateret.

Botanisk Hage Gardens and Museum

These well-kept gardens are open all year. They cover almost 40 acres and surround the university museum. See the scientifically oriented Systematic Garden, the Economic Garden with plants known for their practical uses, be they edible, medicinal, and fiber or dye properties. Also see the Rock Garden, a miniature landscape of valleys, waterfalls, ridges, and plants, and The Palm House, featuring plants from the desert and the tropics. Tøyenbadet water park

This interesting water park is located in the eastern part of Oslo. It has a bathroom and several outdoor pools, along with a waterslide and sauna. There is even a covered climbing wall. Young children have their own pool. The outdoor pool is open all year. The park has a dressing room and showers. A small cafe serves refreshments. Located at Helgesensgate 90.
