Every day a server eats a cupcake at mid-morning during the break from work. It is a small ritual that consists of putting the money in the machine, taking that gift from the gods, breaking its packaging and, just before taking the first bite, smelling its irresistible smell of chocolate.
Something similar happens to me with videogames. Haven’t you ever done it? Forcibly endure the anxiety accumulated for months to savor slowly from the unsealed of the game to its release on the console? That special moment in which you wait a few (very long) seconds with the logo on the screen until the inevitable introductory trailer appears… Fine cinnamon, sweet torture. Well, here is for the impatient the opening cinematic of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword’ with 95% of material never seen. Yourselves.
Personally I think that of ‘The Legend of Zelda. Twilight Princess’ was more epic, possibly because of that dark and dramatic tone that ‘Skyward Sword’ lacks. I’m not worried, I trust the power of fascination of a saga that has never disappointed me and, honestly, do you think that Nintendo would fail in the celebration of this 25th anniversary?
Soon we will meet with an old friend, one of those who never fail, who are always there to make you smile. I look forward to this reunion. It is the eternal return to Hyrule, to that special world, always familiar, but always new.
