Without a doubt, the belly is the most obvious and palpable sign of a pregnancy, because over the months we can see how it increases week by week. As the baby grows, it takes up more space in our body.
That is why it is impressive to see the viral video of a pregnant woman, her belly disappearing as if by magic , making it appear that there is no baby. We share it and explain how it is possible to do it.
The disappearing belly
The video in question has been posted by Megan Elizabeth Call, an influencer from Oahu, Hawaii. She is currently the mother of two girls and the viral images in which she “disappears” her pregnancy belly were taken when she was expecting her second baby.
Through her TikTok account, Megan shared the small video in which she and her husband appear at home, where he pretends to remove a navel plug from her, after which she begins to “deflate” her belly .

It is certainly impressive to see how the belly that houses a baby begins to disappear, almost to the point where it even appears that she is not even pregnant .
The “trick” is in the breath
Although now this video has gone viral, in reality what Megan does is not new and it is not a magic trick or digital editing. It is actually a mindful breathing method that we already talked about on occasion.
This is a “method” called “Deep Core Hold”, which is based on diaphragmatic breathing . This became popular a few years ago thanks to The Bloom Method, a fitness study in the United States dedicated exclusively to pregnant women.
In Spanish, this method would have by name something like “deep retention of the nucleus or of the center”, which basically consists of a diaphragmatic breathing to carry out an intra-abdominal pressure , to contract and relax the abdominal muscles.
This, of course, is a technique that requires certain physical conditions and special training , so it is common to see mainly athletes or women who do a considerable amount of physical activity.
According to the study, this method does not represent any risk for the baby, since diaphragmatic breathing even has some advantages for the mother, such as reducing the risk of incontinence and flaccidity of the abdominal muscles, as well as low back pain, among others.
Perhaps this method is not available to everyone because it requires special training, but practicing regular breathing exercises also brings us many benefits during pregnancy , including reducing stress at this stage and helping to manage pain during labor.
