It is not being a good time for the digital services of Nintendo consoles. Last month we learned that the Japanese company had made the decision to close Miiverse, Wii U Chat and Nintendo TVii on November 7, but in the long term it plans to put an end to another of its great services and perhaps the most important of Wii, the Wii Shop .
Nintendo has communicated that the digital store that allowed us to get hold of Virtual Console or WiiWare games will no longer be active as of January 31, 2019 , so at first one might think that there is too much time left until then, no it is given importance, it is allowed to pass and then there are upsets.

The reason this fact is so important is for two reasons: the first is because from March 27, 2018 it will no longer be possible to add more Wii Points to purchase video games; and the second has to do with the fact that, once the Wii Shop disappears, it will be impossible to re-download any video game that we buy there.
Of course, the titles that have been acquired are not going to be lost as long as you have them downloaded on your Wii or have transferred them to Wii U through the transfer system offered by both consoles. So, you still have a few months ahead to make those purchases that you may have pending or take a look at their catalog before we have to say goodbye forever.
